Dominick is highly recognized as one of the aviation’s leading, respected and qualified FAA Designated Engineering Representatives. This is evidenced by his multi-disciplined engineering delegated authorities granted by the FAA. He has provided years of assistance to multiple mainline air carriers both domestic and internationally, engine OEMs, STC and PMA components, airframe and propeller manufacturers as well as to the individual owner/operator of small businesses and aircraft. Dominick frequently participates in or instructs many professional and technical training seminars and workshops for aviation industry professionals, other designees, and both domestic and foreign regulatory certification personnel. Dominick is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese languages and maintains conversational and reading abilities in French, Italian, and Romanian. In addition to being very active in his local church, Dominick treasures and spends his cherished available time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Brief Experience History
Dominick very successfully completed engineering and related studies at various institutions including Graceland College (Industrial Engineering), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Finite Element Analysis), University of Wisconsin (Mechanical Engineering Technology), Notre Dame University (Metallurgical Engineering), California Coast University (Mechanical Engineering), Indiana University (ASG – Physics), and again at California Coast University (Engineering). Advanced technical studies with certifications have included Sperry Technical School (Non-Destructive Testing, Level III Certificated), and Ohio State University (Certificated – Welding Engineering). In addition to the above Dominick has completed multiple training courses for many variations of commercial large and small turbine engines including General Electric, Pratt and Whitney, Rolls Royce, Garrett, Allison, Teledyne, Lycoming, Williams, BMW-RR, UT-RR-JAE-MTU-Fiat as well as many military use engines.
Dominick has filled manufacturing/engineering management roles for major aerospace companies including General Electric (two separate divisions/facilities), Textron Lycoming, Teledyne Continental, Danly Machine Corporation, Bendix (Fuel Controls & Landing Gear Division), CVI Pennwalt Corporation, and others. Dominick has supported repair development as team leader for JV projects with major engine OEM’s Overhaul and Field Services. He regularly provides International Field Service Engineering Support Aero, and Industrial Turbines; and has welding patents to his credit.
Dominick has accumulated thousands of hours of unmatched experience including: All Joining Methods, ie. GTA Welding, Lasers, EB Welding, Vacuum Brazing, etc., all NDT methods, ie. X-ray, UT, PT, ECT, and MT, both Tested & Appointed Level III, both Traditional and Non-traditional Machining, Sheet Metal Fabrication; Coatings, Plating, and Chemical Milling, Component Repair Engineering, ADH, ADB, and other diffusion healing processes, Plasma Coatings, Low Density, and High Velocity / High Density Coatings.
