Trevis was formerly directly responsible for MKAA operations and maintenance organization division consisting of nearly 100 staff members, and also served in senior leadership roles for the organization as Chief Information Officer and Chief Personnel Officer. Trevis also served in a combination of the US Air Force and the Tennessee Air National Guard from 1987 to 2011 where he rose from the rank of enlisted airman to commissioned officer and served in various roles including First Sergeant and Deputy Group Commander. Trevis has very effectively served multiple terms in local elected offices as a member and also chairman of the Blount County Board of Education. He has been very engaged in the community and region as a volunteer in public education, leadership development initiatives, and projects including serving as the Chairman of the Blount County Chamber of Commerce and chair of the chamber foundation.
Brief Experience History
Trevis had the privilege of serving with the US Air Force and then continuing in the Tennessee Air National Guard (TNANG) for a total sum of 24 years. He was assigned as Engineering and Land Survey Technician/Electrical Power Production and Distribution Journeyman and Master Technician and received promotions into the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) ranks. After being promoted to a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, he filled the roles as Instructor-NCO Academy, NCO in Charge-Site Development and Engineering, and as First Sergeant. Trevis was commissioned as an Air Force Commissioned Officer and performed in various roles including the Logistics Readiness Officer, the Airbase Operability Officer, and finally served as the Deputy Commander/ Executive Officer, retiring from the TNANG after serving in this last assignment.
Trevis served as the Vice President Operations, Chief Personnel Officer, and Chief Information Officer for both the McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) and Downtown Island Airport (DKX) under the direction of the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority. Responsibilities included serving as Director of the 2016 Smoky Mountain Air Show, and filling the role of Vice President of Operations which included being the Accountable Executive for FAA Safety Management and TN OSHA Compliance for both airports (with more than 90 staff members being accountable to him). During this time he was assigned as Chief Operating Officer-Consolidated Airport Services, LLC., (responsible for the formation and implementation of a business plan to provide outsourced ground handling and other associated services for multiple airline operations). He continued with MKAA as Director of Airport Operations, Airport Operations Manager, Engineering Project Manager, and as Environmental Compliance Manager.
